The Power of "Hugot Lines"

“Hugot Lines” strike like a lightning. The popularity of the term grew in recent years and used widely by netizens frequenting Facebook and Twitter. But if we get to evaluate these weighty lines, there is really more than meets the eye. They are emotions that piled up inside the heart and are stored within. The emotions are resting in the different compartments of one’s heart. The emotions that are triggered by joy or anger give birth to these “hugot lines”. Let's be very careful with what we keep in our hearts for they will soon become words: words that may heal or words that may hurt. “Hugot lines” are more powerful than we can possibly imagine.

Appreciation and Gratitude

According to Cambridge: Appreciation is the act of recognizing someone’s worth as a person or showing that you are grateful for something that person has done and gratitude is a strong feeling of appreciation to someone or something for what the person has done to help you. We humans have notoriously short memories. When someone has wronged us once or when that person has fallen short of our expectations, we have the tendency to forget the valuable things that someone has done for us in the past. Sadly, we even attempt to nurture an unforgiving heart within us or put that person down in front of others. One of the liberating truths that every human being should understand is the power of appreciation and gratitude. How wonderful life would be if we will take time to appreciate the people around us and the things that we get to enjoy – even the small things really count! Above all, let us take time to be grateful and appreciate God for this life that He gave us and for the richness of His grace: His forgiveness, salvation and eternal life.

Accounting Principles in Marriage

• Accrual principle. I-rekord ang mga gastusin sa buwan kung kelan nabili ang produkto o napakinabangan ang serbisyo at hindi kung kelan binayaran ang credit card. 

 • Conservatism principle. Kadalasan, ayaw ni mister na magsuot ng “see-through” o mga damit na nabitin sa tela ang kanyang misis. 

 • Consistency principle. Kung “sweet at thoughtful” ka nung nanliligaw ka pa lang, dapat ganun din kung mag-asawa na kayo. Kung ikaw ang nagbabayad sa jeep dati dapat ganun pa din ngayon. 

 • Economic entity principle. Hwag ihalo ang pera sa negosyo sa personal nyong budget. Kung kumain ka sa restawran nyo o bumili ka sa groseri nyo, magbayad ka. 

 • Full disclosure principle. Ipagtapat mo ang mga bagay o tao na naging bahagi ng iyong nakaraan at ang mga bagay na nangyayari sa kasalukuyan upang maiwasan ang hidwaan o di pagkakaintidihan. Bawal ang pangungupit.

 • Going concern principle. Walang “expiration date” ang kasal. Alalahanin nyo ang inyong sinumpaan na kayo ay magsasama sa hirap at ginhawa at kamatayan lang ang maaaring makapaghiwalay sa inyo.

 • Matching principle. Simple lang ito, maganda ka at gwapo sya o di kaya’y mabait kayong dalawa. 

 • Materiality principle. Ito ang madalas na dahilan ng pag-aaway, tingin mo ay maliit na bagay lang pero sa kanya pala ay “major, major issue”.

 • Monetary unit principle. Pag nag-abot ng pera si mister, yung pera lang ang dapat isali sa budget at hwag isali ang pagiging pogi nya. Di naman naisasanla ang hitsura. 

 • Reliability principle. Mga misis, mahirap mabuhay sa hinala. Hwag magpapaniwala sa mga tsismis na di naman napatunayan. Hwag isumbat-sumbat kay mister ang mga bintang na di naman napatunayan.

My Testimonies for 2016

Praise God! It has been a great year - a year of victory in the name of Jesus Christ. I continue to declare that the year 2017 will be another year of God's favor!

Twenty Years of Loving Relationship with Jesus Christ

I am truly honored and blessed that God gave me the most precious gift twenty years ago - the gift of salvation. Words and expressions will never suffice to describe the invaluable joy of experiencing the wonder and the great power of having a loving relationship with Jesus Christ! It's a story of brokenness to breakthrough, of trial to victory and of poverty to prosperity. God brought me to places where I can fit perfectly in His ministry one at a time: The Navigators - Baguio 1996-1999 - years most active(when I was a student & until now), Alliance Church of Makati 2000-2005 - years most active (when I was single and working in Manila and until now) and Baguio Christian Center 2006 - present (when I got married and until now). It's on my 20th year when I decided to enroll in a bible school - June 2016 - present(South Central Cordillera Bible College). God is also using me to speak to churches about Grace Giving and Managing Financial Resources. I have resolved in my heart to live a life of faith and to dedicate my life to the Lord and to His ministry where He has called me. Twenty (20) years is indeed a milestone and still counting.

My Love for Cooking

I have not instantly recognized my passion for cooking in the same way people recognize me as an epitome of a " not-really-a-choosy-eater". As I look back and trace my roots, I can now conclude that I got the cooking genes from my mother and grandmother. But, in all honesty, I know they are way better than I am. My dream of becoming a zealous homemaker started when I was eight years old. I love to doodle things inside the house. The basic household chores and cooking are my helpful sources of therapy especially when I am feeling down and alone in the house. Preparing salads and other healthy dishes is my way of investing in a healthy lifestyle. The word of God says that we need to take care of our body because it is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Also, my love for cooking opens the door for more meaningful fellowships with brethren, friends and family.
